Christopher Stott is a contemporary realist painter.
The titles read like a poem. Or at least they do if that’s what you want. It’s not intentional on my part. It’s more serendipity.
Text makes you look at a painting longer. If there’s something to read, you’ll spend more time. Then you begin to draw connections between the words. You let them tell you what you want.
You may also respond to the color, and the structure the books create. They are architectural. Solid and sturdy.
My next exhibition is only a month away – and I’m working hard on the last few paintings that’ll be sent to the George Billis Gallery in Los Angeles for the April 7th opening reception.

I’m adding the finishing touches to this piece which will soon be off to Los Angeles for my next exhibition at the George Billis Gallery. There’ll be a clean dozen paintings on view. I’m busy working on them now. I’ve got my work cut out for me.

The George Billis Gallery has some of my more colorful work showing at the form miami art fair which runs until December 10.
Last year ITOYA issued a calendar featuring a dozen of my paintings, and this year they’re back with a 2018 calendar. The calendar is made exclusively for the Japanese market, and ITOYA is in charge of all the sales.
The calendar is large, measuring at 23.5″ x 16.5″ and printed on sturdy, heavy weight paper, the images are big and colorful.

I found this Smith-Corona Clipper typewriter at Everything Old and now it is honoured in a simple and clean painting.
It can be found hanging at the Robert Lange Studios in Charleston, South Carolina along with the other typewriter in the case I posted last week.
